When creating a space that reflects character, emotion, and a sense of theatre, a plethora of unique choices become available to those who search.
Nestled in a borough within the heart of London, the exterior of this property hides away the true magnificence within. Bought to us by the team at Sam Causer, conceived by the clients and inspired by the charm of vintage hotel lobbies, this striking bespoke commission exemplifies the beauty of stepping beyond conventional boundaries.
The unorthodox approach to glazing was a key element of the build, by replacing the norm with antique mirrored glass, working harmoniously with the properties characteristics and hand-distressed painted walls. The continuous, period-style skirting board was carried through the door set by implementing a modest kickplate panel to the lower divide.
Georgian-style arched sash windows adorn the rear elevation of the sitting room, with design queue’s echoed in the Fabco door shape. On the other side, a grand kitchen space awaits, designed and manufactured by the team at deVOL Kitchens. Creating a sense of divide and intrigue, the kitchen side solely reveals the double door, squaring off the surrounding screen and mimicking the shape of the adjacent windows and cabinetry.
To compliment the hardware used throughout the kitchen, the door handle finish was specified to match in Satin Brass Unlacquered, on the 55 series ironmongery from Frank Allart.
