We currently have an exciting opportunity for a competent and organised Accounts Assistant to support in the day running of the accounts department, working closely with both accounts payable and accounts receivable within a small and friendly office.
The ideal candidate will have a meticulous attention to detail, be highly motivated, reliable, and have good communication skills. Accounts experience not essential as training will be provided.
Duties will include a variety of responsibilities such as:
Accounts Payable:
- Sorting correspondence from suppliers – invoices, credit notes, statements, and queries
- Posting invoices to the accounting system
- Matching employee credit card receipts
- Raising employee expense claim forms
Accounts Receivable:
- Raising payable invoices & credits
- Chasing payable invoice payments
- Taking card payments
- Verifying bank details
Day-to-day:
- Answering phone calls – customers, managers and suppliers.
- Opening post
- Filing
- Assist with month-end processes for both accounts receivable & payable
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
- Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner.
- Exceptional organisational skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work well within a small team.
- IT literate with Excel and Word and can confidently learn accounting systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of organisational information.
Desired Skills & Experience Required:
- Knowledge of SAGE systems would be helpful although training will be provided.
Hours:
- 5 days a week (Monday – Friday) is required, however, hours are negotiable for the correct candidate.
